Today's blog post is about ascending into Imbolc. Now, I know - we don't usually think about ascending to Imbolc. We might consider descending around Samhain, but if there's a sense of descent into the earth for the winter, we really should counteract that with a period of ascent as well. And given Imbolc is about that period where we're looking at nature, new growth, rising energy in the world in general... it makes sense to me to link it to ascent. (It's also a great time to check out your friendly neighbourhood Brigid's Forge School, but it's also a time when money might be tight, so, y'know - you do you. ) But here's the thing. The darker months, shorter days, longer nights by the fire - they're all great for dreaming and reflection. Absolutely wonderful for journaling and engaging with our memories, processing stuff, all that sort of activity. And there might be times when we need to stay in that mode a while longer than expected. But sometimes, reflection gets very comfortable and it's almost too easy to stay there. And we might need the odd kick in the arse to get moving again on the doing element of life. (No, not at all, not talking to myself here in the slightest!!) So, take this as your sign. Not necessarily to do, but certainly to make the decision to do and when it will be done. And yes, I will be doing this in the coming week as well! BrÃd libh Órlagh P. S. If you were thinking of taking up the Building a Daily Spiritual Practice course, and started this week, you'd be finished just after Imbolc... Nicely setting you up for a new year with Brigid... 😜 Check out the links below: Brigid's Forge School Website |
I'm dedicated to helping women in particular develop their spiritual path in life. I'm focused heavily on Brigid in Ireland, although not all my followers are! I teach, speak, coach and mentor people to help them along their own individual path, based on what lore we have, but also allowing for each individual path to develop as it needs to.
Yes, I'm getting back into some sort of sensible routine now! Although I spent the entire weekend and my two days off last week on the couch, struggling with a cold. Or possibly flu and the vaccine was doing its job. (Yes, this is a pro-vaccine space, in case you were in any doubt!) But I've been having loads of conversations over the last few weeks over the guilt people feel around Christmas, and women in their 40's/ 50's in particular. So, that's what today's blog post is about. Guilt,...
Well, ok, the end of the working year is nigh and if you're lucky or privileged enough to have some time off over the holiday season here is your permission slip to thoroughly enjoy it! I'm off work tomorrow and Friday and I will be back in on Monday - and I'm really looking forward to it - I'm gonna get so much done! The decks will be cleared for 2026. Aside from that, I will be sipping coffee, catching up with folk and making sure nothing ruins people's holidays. I strongly encourage you to...
It's a tough time in the Forge right now. Well let's face it, it's always a tough time in the Forge, but I'm referring to my own private forge for this second. There's a lot of medical bills hitting us and while yes, we are in a much better position than those in the US when it comes to this, it still makes money tight. So, while I'd normally run a million miles away from a Black Friday deal, I'm offering 20% off all courses bought in the next 10 days in the forge. Just use coupon code...
