🕯️Imbolc is here! What are you doing?

Yes, I am aware there is some controversy about the exact date of Imbolc. You can go astrologically (Tuesday 3rd February, apparently), the calendar date (31st hanuary, based of St. Brigid's Day being 1st February) or some other weird and wonderful method.

My particular weird and wonderful method is using the bank holiday weekend we now get in Ireland. So, my celebration starts today. I'll leave out my brat Bhríde tomorrow night. I'll be lighting candles, holding rituals and running retreats all weekend.

And I'm offering some teaching over on various social media sites as well. See this video over on Instagram about how to pronounce Imbolc itself. (There is a "b" and yes it is pronounced!)

But most of all, however and whenever you celebrate - remember your spirituality needs to fit your life. So, if you're in Minnesota right now - I'm going to say you may have other things on your mind...

Spiritual practice is personal. And while there are traditional ways to celebrate and mark occasions, traditions change over time as well. As long as you're only celebrating privately and not claiming yours is the One True Way™️, then we're good.

Unless we're talking about the "b" in Imbolc, of course. Then, there is of course One True Way™️ and it's mine 😉

Hi, I'm Orlagh, of Brigid's Forge

I'm dedicated to helping women in particular develop their spiritual path in life. I'm focused heavily on Brigid in Ireland, although not all my followers are! I teach, speak, coach and mentor people to help them along their own individual path, based on what lore we have, but also allowing for each individual path to develop as it needs to.

Hi folks, I've been getting a lot of questions about the Inner Flame retreat, happening on Sunday! So based on the premise that if one person is asking, 10 more are thinking the question, here we go! What actually happens during the day? The Inner Flame is a live, one‑day online retreat held over five spacious hours. The day is gently structured, with periods of guided ritual, meditation, quiet reflection, and rest, as well as intentional pauses away from the screen. Nothing moves quickly....

Ok, so I'm bit a tad facetious with that email header! If you've been on this list for any length of time, you'll know there's more to Imbolc to candles and honestly, it's perfectly possible to celebrate Imbolc with no candles at all! (I know, it's shocking, right?) But I also know this is the time of year when people like to connect with Brigid. So here's a few options for you: 🕯️If you're interested in a day of serious rest, you can check out the Inner Flame, an exclusive, intimate retreat...

I’m ready to share a little more. The Inner Flame is a private, one-day online Imbolc retreat — five spacious hours devoted to rest, presence, and reconnection. It’s not coaching or personal development. There’s nothing to learn, achieve, or figure out. It’s a pause.A space to soften.A chance to tend what’s quietly alive within you. I’m holding it for a small group, just 10 women, so the space can remain intimate and well-contained. If the idea of stepping out of effort for a day feels...
